Hi,
We have deployed Mac Mini devices that run OS X (10.12.6 Sierra) to various locations. ServiceNow is not discovering them, nor getting a feed from MDM (at this stage). They are used to serve iOS updates to devices (iPhones, iPads etc) at those locations
For incident management purposes we need to put them into the CMDB.
The team who supports them likes to refer to them as servers. I do not have much experience with Apple Mac / OS X.
Any recommendations on what class to put them in? I'm thinking Computer [cmdb_ci_computer] or creating a new class that extends Server
Appreciate some input on what others have done
thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I think this application from ServiceNow store can help you quickly in doing this.
Thanks,

Hi Steve,
My suggestion would be to create an extended table from cmdb_ci as we might not consider the mini devices category in Server category. Also, in the future if you want to integrate to these mini devices but not servers, this would be recommended i.e., like cmdb_ci_miniapple would be better. You wont get the benefits of CMDB CI table once you go to 2nd level of creation ie., cmdb_ci_server as the parent table. If ServiceNow is not discovering the devices via Discovery or SCCM, you may import the records from an Excel sheet to the system via Import Sets and Transform Maps. Link: Import Sets
Hope this could help you. Thanks
