How would you classify security cameras in CMDB? Is there as existing class that you'd recommend extending for these devices? Some attributes that I'd like to capture are: Video server that the camera feeds into, communication channel number, IP address, camera type, motion sensitivity, pre-roll , post roll .

Allen, thanks for your response. I did look at that thread before I posted. Unfortunately, it does not provide any information of value to me. I need to know if anyone has re-purposed an existing CI class to maintain security camera data. Do these devices logically fit into a particular class or sub-class?

Good Afternoon,
Sorry, we don't know what you have or haven't seen beforehand.
Perhaps someone else can tell you, but currently there is no "logical" fit as one doesn't exist. So the next logical thing to do would be to create one and define outlines etc. hence the link post, which is valuable.
We'll see if someone else can add anything.
Thanks!
