Sequential Catalog Items from Order Guide

Hi guys,

I have a created a order guide for "New employee". This order guide have 3 items attached

1. New Account in AD
2. Order PC
3. Order Mail Account

In order to fulfill "Order PC" and "Order Mail Account", I need to have "New Account in AD" completed first
(i.e. I cannot create a mail account before the user is available in our active directory)

Problem is all Catalog Items get submitted immediately once I request the Order Guide.

How can I implement this?

Hello nielsm,

What you're trying to accomplish isn't possible. Order Guides were designed for the use case of simultaneous ordering or packaged ordering of items. Based on initial selections or answers, items are presented to the user and they all get ordered with the submission of order guide.

Thank you Cody,

I see now why this will not work as an order guide. However, the requirement still stands.

I will look at other options to implement this

Are we thinking about this the wrong way or how have everybody else implemented this scenario?

Good news is Staring Sandiego - You can Enable sequential processing of service catalog items ordered via an order guide.

You need to install the plugin - Order Guide Sequential Fulfillment

Every ServiceNow developer has ran into this and had to figure out their own workaround, now we have order guide sequencing built in!
