Sticky notes not saving on dashboards

We have created a dashboard and have placed a Sticky Notes gadget at the top for users to leave messages on, once the page refreshes it clears what has been entered and returned to the default text.

Is there some setting we need to enable to allow it to be editable? or some method of saving the changes?

Unfortunately not.



I tried all the config options I can find but nothing works.

I put in a HI ticket for this issue. They acknowledged that the sticky note widget is not exactly compatible with the new canvas dashboards. There is a plan to replace them in the future but there isn't a roadmap for it. So they gave me the below workaround. I tried it and it works.



1. On your dashboard create a new tab from configuration. Give this tab a name 'stickynotegadget tab'
2. Click on hamburger menu for dashboard and click on Dashboard properties.
3. When the dashboard form opens, click on dashboard tab created in step 1 from dashboard tabs section.
4.Click on page reference field details ( icon to get details)
5. Here, click on edit homepage link and add sticky note widget or any contents
6. The sticky notes are now available on the dashboard and can be shared with users to view

We that works, it's a bit cumbersome to have to go through it each time you need to change the text but it's better than nothing.
