Sticky notes not saving on dashboards

We have created a dashboard and have placed a Sticky Notes gadget at the top for users to leave messages on, once the page refreshes it clears what has been entered and returned to the default text.

Is there some setting we need to enable to allow it to be editable? or some method of saving the changes?

Thanks Avinash. I added 'Sample Text' between the Jelly tags and below is what i got. Looks like the text area is not editable. I want the text area to be editable by users.

To add this widget go to Add content --> Content Blocks --> New Dynamic content
The widget will be having wordings like "Click here to configure this reusable Dynamic Content block." (after it get added)

I did this, but got an empty screen:

find_real_file.png

Found in the dots in the top right that you can add some kind of template?! And I've tried something, but I don't understand how it works. Please help

find_real_file.png

In te Template dropdown I see this:

find_real_file.png

The configure-thingie top right has this not clickable field:

find_real_file.png

And how to add this one to a Dashboard then?

Can somebody confirm this is still a problem?

Mine doesn't save.

Still a problem. On Madrid and I can't save sticky notes. Going to try the workaround provided above, but I didn't want to use content blocks as that requires additional permissions.
