Using Record Producers in Order Guides

Record Producers cannot be added to Order Guides as configured OoTB.     But you can change this by modifying the system property "glide.sc.item.order_guide_exclusion".   Removing the value 'sc_cat_item_producer' allows Record Producers to be included in Order Guides.  

My question is; why are Record Producers excluded OoTB?   And more importantly, are there any ramifications or negative impact caused by enabling this feature. Has anyone used Record Producers in Order Guides, and if so, what did you find? Note that we are on Helsinki.

The following is my opinion and has no facts checked with our development team... The only thing I can think of why they are excluded by default is that record producers do not fit the "Cart" model. The order guides are designed around this to create requests, request items, etc. Having a random record "detached" from the other items in the request could be a bit confusion.

I would like to know information related to the record producer attached to the order guide. This scenario along with one more item added to order guide creates multiple requests when order guide is submitted. But when tried from the portal, it creates single request but multiple RITM's within it. 

Can this behavior from portal be changed for order guides?

At this time I do not know if what you seek can be done. That doesn't mean that it cannot, only that I don't know.
