What is the Maximum data capacity of ServiceNow Instance? is there any threshold of data size say 8 TB per instanace?

Hi Team

 

Looking for a document which talks about the servicenow over all datasize allowed per instance?

 

Is there any threshold limit(8TB). If so customer has to buy more storage if exceeds the threshold.

Hi Laxman,


There is no limit on the storage space, and if any issue should arise, we have monitoring systems in place so we will be aware of them before it becomes a problem. It will be totally transparent to you as a customer.


Also, There is no limit in the platform on the number or overall size of the attachments you may store in your instance, there are several customizable restrictions though, you can read more about this here: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/istanbul-servicenow-platform/page/administer/form-administration/....


However the bigger the table the slower the queries will be against it, 4Gb will not cause any problems what so ever on the table if this is a one time load, however 4 Gb every hour or every day will increase the table size considerably which can result in performance degradation

While adityatelidevara is correct from a technical perspective, please refer to your ServiceNow sales contract for specifics.   The contracts for many years have a database size limit of 4TB per instance.   This can obviously be negotiated with your sales account team but there is technically a limit.



Its important to note that data within the instances is managed by the customer and NOT ServiceNow.   We have an Archiving application that an help you set time thresholds on archiving and purging data.
