working with multiple variable sets

I need a little community help in working with multiple variable sets.

Here's the scenario, I have a large (read: complex) form that has a variable set called work address (see image 1). It contained a reference to the country table. I removed that and created a new variable set with a choice list of a few countries (image 2)

I want to "nest" my variable set inside my work address variable set so that it shows up just like the previous reference field. Can someone tell me if there's a way to do this? Thanks for your time, let me know if there are any other questions.

Hi William,

I think that unfortunately this isn't possible due to the way that the variable sets get rendered on the page. It's one of the issues with separating variable out into their own sets. Why did you separate out that variable?

Brad, thank you for the information. I separated it out because I knew that I'd have to use it in a number of places. I thought this way would be easier than copying the variable and having it in ~ 4 different catalog items.

Guess I was wrong.

As Brad is saying, you should think the variable sets as containers on a container ship, you can move around the container to put in on the right place of the ship but it wouldn't make sense to open it, remove few things and rearrange the inside box.

If you want to rearrange the variables, you have to do it in the container and then close the door to let the container being placed/used on the ship
