Instance is offline

Hi team,

My Personal Developer Instance has been offline for 4 days now. The instance shows:

"Instance Offline: Recovery may take long. You can wait, or release it now to request a new one."

Instance ID: dev341795
Instance URL: https://dev341795.service-now.com

I've tried:

  • Refreshing / waking up the instance multiple times
  • Accessing directly via /login.do
  • Waited the recommended 48–72 hours

None of these have worked.

My main concern: I have important development work on this instance — a custom table my teammate and I built together — that has not been backed up as an Update Set. If I release this instance and request a new one, I will lose all of that data permanently.

Is there any way to:

  1. Recover this specific instance instead of releasing it, or
  2. Retrieve/export the data (Update Set, table data, or app source) from this instance before it's released, even though it's currently offline?

Any guidance from the ServiceNow team would be really appreciated before I'm forced to release it and lose this work.

Thank you in advance.

Hello @mathewmcpde ,

Don't worry, buddy. Nowadays, this is a common issue faced by multiple users. Recently, my instance also went offline, but it recovered after almost 7–8 hours. In rare cases, the instance may not recover at all.

So, please make sure you take a daily backup. That way, even if your instance goes offline or doesn't recover, you'll still have a backup of your work.

If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.

Regards,

Aditya
