Some context details would be helpful.

  • Does the incident task still get submitted/saved?
  • Are there any reference filters/qualifiers applied?
  • Is that the oob incident task table? (Our org uses a custom one with the same name)
  • Has this always been an issue or did it start happening recently?
  • Is there another incident with the same number?

Hi @BhairisettiV

Invalid Reference error usually means the system cannot match your manual entry to a record in the database.

  • Check whether incident you are try to search has been saved in Database
  • If yes, In incident task-> Incident -> right click to click on Configure Dictionary -> Share the reference qualifier.

I assume you just typed the INC# and did not use the lookup. If it doesn't appear in the lookup list and you have verified that the incident exists in the database then it's a reference qualifier issue.
