UI Page User Reference Field Search Limited to Username Only - Need Search by Employee Number etc.

Hi All,

I have an Issue related  to User reference fields in OOB UI Pages.

For example:
- In Purchase Orders, when clicking "Received", the dialog prompts for a "Reserved for" user.
- In Consumable records, when clicking "Consume", a dialog prompts for a user.

Currently, these User fields are searchable only by Username. I need users to be searchable by Employee Number and Phone Number as well.

I investigated the OOB implementation, but modifying the existing code results in errors. Could anyone suggest the recommended or supported approach to extend the search criteria for these User reference fields in UI?
