Happy to help, mate.
I started as a BA, then moved to BPC, and now I’m working as a Platform Owner. This journey has always been an interesting learning experience.
As a BA, the first part is all about skills and understanding the platform. We should not think about the platform functionally at first, but understand how it is built, how it moves, and how it works. It’s also important to gain knowledge of additional products like GRC, SAM, etc.
As a BA, you are the first point of contact for the client, so communication and client handling skills are very important. We should focus on workshops, writing skills, and also be able to do small POCs. It’s essential to understand the differences in customer situations and configuration.

Hi @AdnanB_
You need to do following things:
- Learn the Business Analyst part of ServiceNow: Business Process Analyst Career Journey (Move from Associate ->Practitioner->Professional)
- ServiceNow Certification: Obtain ServiceNow CSA -> ITIL Foundation -> Module-specific CIS (e.g., ITSM/HRSD)
- Go through following courses if you have interest:
Introduction to Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD)
Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) Fundamentals
Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) ImplementerBusiness Process Consultant (BPC) Best Practices for Implementation
If you want to any kind of Certification (mainline-micro) /Accrediation , you can check this blog for your suitable your role:
- Online Communities and Forums:
Engage with the ServiceNow community through forums, read query and answer and slowly start to contribute - Networking: Expand your network and participate in any events possible.
- Apply for Entry-Level Positions: apply & apply - don't give up.
