Hi @girishbs06

The default limit for exporting records in ServiceNow using Export Sets or List View is 10,000 rows

You can safely modify this threshold by navigating to System Properties > Import Export Properties .

If it is big count -> once export done ->revert it back (best practice)

Hi @girishbs06,

The default limit for exporting data (such as CSV, JSON, and XML files) using an export set in ServiceNow is 10,000 records. For XLSX formats, the limit is also 10,000 rows (or up to 500,000 cells) due to Microsoft Excel restrictions.

While this is the default, administrators can increase the maximum limit by modifying the respective system properties (like or ) under System Properties > Import Export. However, exporting excessively large datasets all at once is not recommended as it can cause performance degradation or system crashes.

@girishbs06

it all depends on the export limit.

Remember if you are using csv and the number of columns are more in your export definition then it will extract large number of records as compared to XLS or XLSX

So basically it depends on combination of that system property and the number of columns
