How to retire a knowledge block in ServiceNow

Hello All, can someone help me understand why a knowledge block cannot be retired even if I have deleted it from the latest version of the article? I received always the same error message "Block cannot be retired as it is currently used in other articles".

Hi,

Has retirement of knowledge blocks been enabled? It is controlled by the property '

glide.knowman.allow_retire_block' which defaults to false.
 
The other place to look is within the m2m_kb_to_block_history, if this contains a record linking a knowledge block to an article then deletion will be prevented
