I am gearing up to take the ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Security Incident Response (CIS-SIR) exam and I wanted to start a discussion on how best to prepare for it. From what I have gathered, the exam covers a lot of ground, including incident response, vulnerability management, and more. I’d love to hear from those who have already taken the exam or are currently preparing for it.
Here are some specific areas I’m interested in:
Study Materials: What are the best resources for studying? Are there any recommended books, courses, or online materials that you found particularly helpful?
Practice Exams: Did you use any practice exams or sample questions? If so, which ones did you find most useful?
Real-World Application: How closely does the exam content match what you work with in ServiceNow? Any advice on bridging the gap between theory and practical application?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
Thanks in advance!

I recently prepared for and successfully passed the ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Security Incident Response (CIS-SIR) exam. I am happy to share my personal experience and preparation strategies. The CIS-SIR exam covers a wide range of topics, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence. To start, I used the official ServiceNow CIS-SIR study guide, which gave me a structured understanding of the core concepts and processes that the exam focuses on. The guide outlines key areas like the security incident lifecycle and integrations with other ServiceNow modules, making it an essential resource.
In addition to the study guide, I found the ServiceNow community forums to be an invaluable source of information. Engaging with others who had either taken or were preparing for the exam provided me with practical insights and best practices. I also made use of YouTube tutorials and online courses, which provided visual explanations and walk-throughs of critical functionalities within the Security Incident Response module.
One of the most effective tools I used was the Pass4Future CIS-SIR practice questions. These practice exams mirrored the format and complexity of the actual exam questions. Which gives me a solid sense of what to expect. They helped me gauge my readiness and pinpoint areas where I needed further review. I advised you if you need CIS-SIR practice questions then must include their Practice questions into your study routine as they build familiarity with the types of questions and help with time management during the exam.
The CIS-SIR exam content closely aligned with much of the hands-on work I had done in ServiceNow. However, there were certain theoretical aspects that required deeper study beyond what I encountered in day-to-day tasks. For this, I used a ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance to apply what I was learning in a live environment, which helped bridge the gap between theory and practical application.
Overall, a combination of the official study materials, Pass4Future CIS-SIR practice exams, community forums, and videos were instrumental in my preparation. If you focus on both theory and real-world application, you will be well-prepared for the exam.
Best of luck!
