I am working on a ServiceNow CSM mobile solution where mail agents scan barcodes at each stop during a route, and I need guidance on the best implementation approach.

🔹 Requirement

  • One CSM case per route run
  • Agent scans multiple barcodes in a single session
  • Each scan should store:
    • Barcode value
    • Exact timestamp at the time of scanning 
  • Maintain a running list of scanned stops in the UI
  • Allow user to:
    • Delete incorrect scans
    • Detect duplicate scans within session and show warning
  • On submission:
    • All stops should be stored

Create records per stop, so you can also check if everything is scanned correctly. Assign the stops to the Case (related list) and run with that. The scanning of the barcode can then update the stop-record.
