Will ServiceNow Studio add an option to change Domain Scopes?

Hi, ServiceNow Studio has options to change the App Scope and the Update Set, which are great as it follows the ethos of not having to leave SN Studio, but we are big users of Domain Separation and this is the only reason why we HAVE to leave SN Studio so we can change it our Domain Scope.
So my question is, can a drop down for Domain Scope be added so we can change it within SN Studio?
Cheers...
Pablo.

Hi Pablo,
Current State: No Domain Scope Dropdown in Studio
As of now:
- Studio supports switching Application Scope and Update Set, but not Domain Scope.
- To change the domain of a record or application, you still need to:
- Exit Studio
- Use the Platform UI
- Manually change the sys_domain field or use the "Toggle Domain Scope" UI Action (if enabled)
Can a Domain Scope Dropdown Be Added?
Technically, yes—it’s feasible for ServiceNow to implement a Domain Scope selector in Studio, similar to the Application Scope dropdown. However:
- This feature is not currently available, and there’s no official roadmap confirming its addition.
- It would require Studio to respect domain visibility rules and enforce domain constraints during record creation and editing.
- There are security and data integrity implications, especially in MSP or multi-tenant environments, which may explain the cautious rollout.
What You Can Do
If this feature would significantly improve your workflow, I recommend:
- Submitting an Idea to the ServiceNow Idea Portal:
- Go to https://community.servicenow.com
- Search for or submit a new idea like: "Add Domain Scope dropdown to Studio UI"
- Upvoting similar requests if they already exist.
- Engaging your ServiceNow account team to escalate the request if it's critical to your development process.
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.
Best,
Anupam.
