With the new innovations in the May release, our customers are even more empowered to align all work to deliver more value. Below are our latest enhancements and innovations in Alignment Planner Workspace.
Aligning work to strategy
Roadmap Planning is ServiceNow’s enterprise planning tool that allows stakeholders to visualize and communicate cross-functional plans. In the May store release, we are expanding Alignment Planner Workspace (APW) capabilities to go beyond roadmap planning and target the strategy level.
Enterprises need to shift from output-based execution to outcome-based execution. Unfortunately, strategy and work delivery in the most enterprises are in silos. And that’s why organizations cannot create a consistent business outcome across the enterprise.
We’d like to solve that problem for our customers and enable them to drive strategic outcomes for their organization by including Goals Framework in APW. Now the enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO) and business owners can enter their goals and targets, cascade through across the organization, and align work to ensure those goals are achieved. Goals Framework in APW is flexible enough to accommodate various types of common goals frameworks such as OKRs to let your organization strategize in the way that best fits.

Managing and tracking backlogs of work coming from different groups can be overwhelming especially at the enterprise level. Planners need a single source to have visibility to all backlogs. The new enhancements to APW include the consolidated backlog which enables planners to gather, review and prioritize initiatives and work items all in a single workspace before strategically committing them in the roadmap.

Dependencies Frequently exist on demands, projects, and epics. That’s why you as a planner need to have the right tools to identify those dependent roadmap items. We enhanced our roadmap planning to include roadmap dependencies. By creating dependency relationships and highlighting any risk early on, planners can make sure everybody is aware of these risks and mitigate immediately. This way roadmap planning becomes more efficient and accurate.
