I have a use case where my organization has three different business units:
- Construction – Manages all construction-related activities
- Backoffice – Handles administrative and support functions
- Upgradation of Equipment – Focuses on upgrading existing infrastructure, which requires certain construction activities
Since some construction activities are required for equipment upgradation, I need a few groups to be part of both the Upgradation and Construction business units. However, I don’t want to create separate groups for each business unit, as I sync all users with Active Directory (AD).
What would be the best way to configure this in ServiceNow so that I can leverage shared groups while maintaining proper access control and business unit alignment? Are there any recommended practices for structuring this within ServiceNow without disrupting AD sync?
Appreciate any insights or best practices!
