Best practices concerning demand management

Hello,

We are considering using demand management. In that regard i have 2 questions :

1- What is the recommended organisation needed to support this process :

Our IT direction is organised by technologie (SAP, O365, ServiceNow etc...), what is the best organisation recomanded for demand management :

-Having a dedidacted team of demand managers, that follows demands and creates demands tasks for each team depending on the technologie (SAP, SNOW etc...)

-Each team have it's own demand manager.

2- When a demand should be closed ? As soon as the project / Enhancement is created ?

BR,

Hamza.

Hi Hamza,

Our organization is divided into portfolios based on the business they support. These Portfolios can be using multiple technologies to support the business applications. You can think through how your organization is structured and accordingly can define them.

The Demand Mgmt module is commonly used between all these Portfolios, where Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the demand pipeline for their respective Portfolios. Demand Manager can be one or many and can help manage the Demand Pipeline for one or multiple Portfolios and can use the demand workbench to manage the demand pipeline.

ServiceNow OOTB has both the preference available -

1. To close a demand when a project is created

2. To close the demand when the project closes

You can choose the preference according to your organization processes. Mostly recommended is the first option as once a Project is created all the information flows into the Project record where the execution happens.

Hope this helps to make your decisions...
