Hi all! We are implemented RMW and have come across an issue which causes a problem with high impact.
Description:
In Resource Management Workspace version 5.1.1, it is now possible for the resource manager to edit directly in the list view/columns in the resource cards for effort, start date, and end date for resource management. In the 5.1.0 version (this were not editable)
This is a good feature; however, we have encountered a problem which causes a major Issue.
Issue:
Changing the start date or end date for a resource assignment in the list view/columns in resource cards in the resource management workspace, automatically set the start date and end date of the resource assignment equal to the planned start and planned end date of the task. Also activity flow not updated.
Consquence: As a resource manager, when editing and changing the dates for the start date or end date of a resource assignment in the list view/columns in the resource card, the system automatically changes the start date and end date of the resource assignment to the planned start date and planned end date of the task.
This causes a major error in how resources are planned, and the feature of editing directly in the list view causes incorrect allocations or planned allocations.
For a e.g. project with planned start date and end date of 01.01.2025-31.12.2026. If creating resource assignments and try changing the start date and planned end date of the resource assignments in the list view, the system overrides and set the start date and end date of the resource assignment equal to the task planned start and end date.
Anyone in the community or ServiceNow who knows what is happening here? Would love to discuss this.
NB: From my PDI in version 5.1.0 it is not possible for a resource manager to edit in the list view:
