CWM board - Can it be made useful for project tasks?

In looking at the ability to view / work project tasks assigned to an individual within CWM it appears that it's largely not possible to given the following:
The "My Work" list is not configurable - this list does not contain "Planned Start" and "Planned End" project task dates which means that assigned resources can't determine when their project tasks are due to start or to be completed. This preconfigured list DOES provide project name, which is helpful (especially the ability to group by this field) but without understanding required timing of project task completion it's not ultimately useful.
The workaround would appear to be to create a custom board and to map project tasks via "connected work" - this allows the user to add "Planned Start" and "Planned End" dates to the list - but - the project NAME to which tasks belong to is not available. This requires users to remember that PRJ0012334 is "Build a new hockey rink" and that PRJ0012438 is "Fly to Mars," etc... Not feasible for resources who are assigned to a significant number of projects. There also does not appear to be a grouping capability.
Perhaps SOW is the intended new "My Work" landing spot (though project tasking and other task types would need to be added via separate lists, one per table I would assume)?
Is there a different approach? We've built a "My Project Work" PA Dashboard to provide users with a one-stop view of all project work assigned to them - exploring alternatives, input appreciated.

Hi @Joe Governali ,
I agree, we just installed the plugin last week and still figuring out things but I can definitely say there are some limitations. I think the CWM is more for a collaborative approach rather than single user point, unless user create respective boards and filter via connected works to only bring in projects/ or tasks assigned to them.
With regards to finding out about when you project starts or end, have you had a look at the automation(notifications) which can send notifications to the users based on start and end date.
Have you also tried to link the project via the relationship tab?

Best regards,

Hi Joe,
You can edit the default view for the project task to add project name, and that will enable users to see the project name in the side panel when a user clicks on the task.
Then, to view the project name in the List view, personalize the columns and select 'Top Task'
Does this solve for your use case?
Thanks,
Irene
We plan to enhance this process in the future to make it more intuitive
