Dear community,
Following recent upgrades, I’ve noticed that the option to allocate a demand’s budget by year is no longer available on the Demand record. This functionality still exists once the demand is converted into a project (in the project workspace), but in our use case, we need to allocate the budget per year at the demand stage.
The Cost Plans tab doesn’t meet our needs, as we are simply looking to allocate the capital budget by year—representing the planned annual execution—at the time the demand is approved and before it's converted into a project.
What came to my attention is that we still have in the Demand record, under the financials tab, a field called Capital Budget (Out of the box field). But don't know how this field is used from the Demand record.
Has anyone encountered a similar need or found a solution for enabling this type of annual budget allocation directly on the Demand record?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hi,
Do you mean you cannot see Create budget related link anymore?

Exactly! I don't see that related link on my list. Do you know what do I need to install to be able to see that link? Or it should appear with the standard Demand Management module installed? I kept all the fields Out of the box.

Hi @Alejandra1 ,
After migrating demand budget to Next Experience, you won't get the budget in the Classic UI however you can manage the budget of demands using the next experience.
This is the reason why you are NOT getting the budget in the classic UI.
Please refer this doc link for the details.

I have a question around this.
Is there a way where a Demand Manager or Project Manager or Portfolio Manager do not have to hop to different workspaces to allocate budget or approve budget for a Demand or Project.
We are currently implementing SPM and we have come across an issue for Budget allocation.
For Legacy practices we were fine as the personas (Demand Manager, Portfolio manager, Resource manager) are more or less 1 or 2 people, who manage these things.
Allocating it on the form was easy but since we have to hop onto different different workspaces, it is difficult to explain and figure out a solution for this.
Is there some info you can share with us.
A guide on how to do Demand and Project budgeting in SPM?
Thanks
