Hi Saurav,

Yes I was able to change the dates of Project Tasks, with the help of sub-tasks inside it. But I was not able to end the date on "Sundays" though not sure why.

Project dates are usually read only in a couple of circumstances when the project 'Calculation' attribute = 'Automatic':

  • Planned start date for a Phase/Task is calculated based on the Planned end date of the predecessor task(s) and any Lead/Lag.
  • Planned end date for a Task is calculated based on the Planned start date + Planned duration for that task.
  • Planned start date and Planned end date for Tasks that have children (e.g., Project, Phases, Deliverables, etc.) are calculated based on the dates in the children.  The Planned start date of the Parent is the earliest Planned start date of the children and the Planned end date of the Parent is the latest Planned end date of the children.  These roll up throughout the work breakdown in the task plan.

Do below steps and check if any success

  1. Project 'Calculation' type is not 'Automatic'.
  2. You cannot change the dates of task, if there is child project tasks within.
  3. Ensure your project task must be either in 'Pending' or 'Open' state.
  4. There must be no dependencies of given task with other tasks
  5. Then try changing dates of task from Planning console.

Let me know if this works.

Thank you!
