How can I hide the markup on project status report fields in lists and reports?

If I export to PDF the content looks fine. But if we view it online in list view or export to Excel the fields include the mark up. Is there a way to print/view without the markup without turning off HTML editing?

I'd suggest editing your post by updating the title to get more people to look at it.

Make a good to-the-point title for the question or as stackoverflow says, "Write a title that summarizes the specific problem". This helps because it lets those who can help, know they can without going into the post. You might be thinking, I can't sum it up it's too complex. No problem, try to think how you'd ask a busy colleague, and put that into the subject. If you're still having trouble, write the title last after all the details are fresh.

Not sure why the recommendation was made to make this more clear.  I have experienced it also.  It is even shows up in my developer instance.

When you create a project status report through the reporting functionality, the comments come up with html markup in the report.

This is actually part of the text that comes up in the report:

<ul style="list-style-position: inside;

There are field attributes for "html sanitize" that may help.

I do have a script that will remove the markups, but it only works if copying the text to another field (same table or different table); it wouldn't really work for your situation.

I have the same issue and find the HTML tags display to be completely unacceptable. In 2019 this is completely amateur and SN needs to fix it. I can't even generate a nice looking status report for executives without manually stripping out the tags in Excel. If they go into the dashboard they see the tags and you can't read the text. And exporting to .PDF allow no formatting of the columns so it's not an option for execs either. There does not appear to be a print friendly view I can provide of a weekly status report for the number of projects we have.
