How to mark Resource Assignments as complete?

How do you complete a resource assignment? Earlier in Resource Plans, if there was a piece of task completed before the planned end date, the project managers had an option to mark the resource plan as complete. I am not able to see any such option in the new resource assignments created from project workspace. Could someone please help with this?

I know this is old but just trying to understand how the resource assignment is supposed to work when the demand is complete or project. Do the resource assignments just show up forever in Resource Workspace? There does not seem to be a way to close it out so it no longer shows up in the workspace, what am I missing?

We are facing this same challenge.  From what I've read, it's assumed if the date is past date, than it's no longer valid.  However our PMs manage the project and managers manage the Resources.  We have reports set up as we will often see a project past the end date and not extended in a timely manner, which means we cannot adjust the resources to match the end date.  We're trying to find a mechanism to sift through what is past date and valid and what is past date and needs the PM to extend the Project date.
