Importing a project from XML

I exported a project from service-now as an XML file. When I go to import and select the XML that I just imported, nothing happens. How do you import a project from the XML created during an export?

You can email the URL of the sites you are using and the project number.

Would you please post the fix or work around for this?

I used the built in Project Export/import and the file exported as an XML and will not import as an xml  only an mpp.  Part of the point of ServiceNow is to stop paying MS Project license fees.
