Importing MSP schedules

Hi SPM Community

 

We have noted on our current deployment that when importing a MSP schedule into a service now project the values on the project record for the Assigned to and Additional Assignees fields are deleted during the import.

 


This behaviour is unexpected as there is no relevant data in the MSP import file and there is not mapping in the ootb configuration that relates to these Servicenow project record fields.

 

Can anybody explain why the ootb configuration for MSP import would delete the existing field values and

What would be the best practice to ensure the values are retained after import

Hi @David Carroll 

Hope you are doing well.

 

One of the reasons of deletion of resources in the 'Assigned to' and 'Additional assignee' is that corresponding resources do not exist in ServiceNow. 

Note that the resource name in Microsoft Project should map to the name of the user in the instance.

I would suggest to check the ServiceNow instance in which you are trying to import the project.
