Hi Community, SPM experts,
With the new Resource Assignments and Planning attributes of Expense type (Capex/Opex) and Employee type (Internal/External) the OOTB system allows to efficiently create Resource Assignments with the right Expense type (coming from the task) and the right Employee type (coming from the employee profile of the selected resource). This should further enable correct creation of (Labor) Cost plans with the right Cost type (e.g. External Labor Capex) and Expense line coming from the Timecard (this last step doesnt seem to work properly currently).
What if you want to manually create cost plans and expense lines or write time without an resource assignment in place? Is there a OOTB way to leverage the 'expense type' planning attribute' to ensure the Cost plan/Expense line gets the correct 'expense type' from the parent task (e.g. project) associated to it?
e.g. if a project 'expense type' is set to 'Opex' then all cost plans created to that project should be auto filled with Opex as expense type. Or if a project task is 'Opex' then all expense lines coming from timecards on that project task should be set to 'Opex' by default.
