Hi Community, SPM experts,
Within SPM, We want to be able to write time using Timecards while also using the new Resource Assignments (RA) with Expense type/Employee type planning attributes and consequently be able to correctly calculate and specify expense lines based on timecards with right cost type/expense type.
With the Classic resource management using resource plans, when writing time, Timecards would be linked to the correct Resource plan so that expense line created after timecard approval would be in line with the cost plan related to the selected resource plan and with the cost type External Labor Capex.
However, as per OOTB setup with RA. When a RA is created (With expense type = Opex and Employee type is Internal) and approved this will create an Allocated child Resource plan.
Through the OOB related link 'Generate Labor Costs' on the project form a Cost plan is created with the correct Cost type 'External Labor Opex' taken from the RA.
Now when a user writes time on the project and selects the correct auto created RPLN i would expect that the associated expense line takes the correct Cost type (External labor Opex) and expense type (Opex).
However, instead the systems creates an expense line with External Labor Capex cost type based on an entirely newly created Cost plan with External Labor Capex as if the Timecard did not have any RPLN linked to it.
Anyone has any idea whats going on here and/or how we can make sure that the Expense lines coming from Timecards are in line with the Expense type and Employee type specified on the RA?
