Hello... Need your inputs and ideas on how you use the project Phases like Initiating , Planing , Executing and so on ..
I am not able to find anything from documentation how the project moves from one phase to other.

Hello Sanjeev,
Up to my knowledge there are no rules that were set up to update the phase automatically

Hi Sanjeev,
Here goes some brief thoughts on how you can use these phases.
Initiating: Use the phase when you're defining the scope of the project and settling preconditions that may be required to get started.
Planning: Use this phase when you're defining your detailed plan to execute.
Executing: Use this phase when you're already tackling project tasks and executing against the committed plan.
Monitoring/Controlling: Use this phase in case you need a period of time to "watch out" for the health of the implementation. In some previous project we used to call this "stabilization period". You will only enter this phase once you have completed all your committed work.
Closing: Use this phase to execute all the project related activities to wrap up your project. Examples are: surveys, post-mortems (reflections), closure-report outs, etc..
I hope these brief descriptions/pointers help you out!
Thanks,
Berny

Thank you DVP, Kelly and Berny. This is useful to know. We have added some phases from reporting perspective but yes the change will be manual.
