Question regarding licensing SPM / Business Stakeholder

Dear Community,

i got a question regarding licensing and what is included or not: lets say i own 100 licenses for SPM and have them allocated by 100 users in our company. If they should approve some requests in Employee Center, do these 100 users also require Business Stakeholder licenses or are these already included in SPM?

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan

As with every question related to licensing: contact your ServiceNow sales rep, because any answer coming from the community can be wrong. We don't know your contract, we don't know the conditions, we don't know your instance, we don't know your implementation.

100 SPM licenses can very well include the stakeholder permissions as well and it can very well be excluded. I have seen both.

Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

Hi,

The 100 users referenced will seek approval, thereby validating your statement. If, for any reason, the approvers are not included in the count of 100 users, an additional license will be necessary. Prior to consulting with the representative, I recommend reviewing the 'Pricing and Packaging' slide and verifying the internal source that determined the count of 100 to gain further insight.

Suresh.

as @Mark Manders mentioned, you should always consult with your ServiceNow account team as your contract may have specific conditions that override general rules.

That said, in general, users with SPM entitlements assigned by role would be able to approve SPM related requests.  However, that would be limited to SPM requests as they could only view SPM requests if they didn't have entitlements to other areas of ServiceNow like IT Service Management or HR Service Delivery.  Business Stakeholder entitlements apply across many product areas, whereas SPM entitlements are specific to SPM.  For example, a user with an SPM entitlement would need an IT Service Management fulfiller entitlement or a Business Stakeholder entitlement in order to approve an IT Service Management request or change.
