We are just beginning our journey with ServiceNow. Workshops were just held last week. We will be going live with Fuji. I see instead of being able to specify those extensions we will not allow for attachments, we must list all those we will allow. I've searched but was unable to find a list of recommended allowable extensions. I realize no two companies will be the same, but would like to see some recommendations as a starting point.
Thanks in advance for any input provided.
Jon

Hi Jon,
I would recommend the extensions for any MS Office file types (examples: doc, docx, xls), images (examples: jpg, png, gif) and some compressed file types (examples: zip, rar).
If you find my response to be helpful, please remember to mark my response as such. If this has answered your question, please don't forget to mark my response as the correct answer.
Kind Regards,
Mike

Jon,
In addition to those Mike listed, here are some others that may be helpful.
pdf,doc,docx,xls,xlsx,jpg,jpeg,tiff,tif,bmp,gif,png,txt,ppt,pptx,psp,rtf,wks,wpd,wp5,asc,hlp,htm,html,impp,mppx,ost,pst,pct,php,phtml,pps,ppt,shtml,xif,xls,xlt,xml,zip,msg
This list actually came from allowing all extensions for a period of about a month and then reviewing the sys_attachment table and reviewing those extensions that had been attached. So that may be a good option to consider as well.

Thanks to you both. I've got most of what you've mentioned covered. I was more or less hoping someone from SN would respond with a list of best practice extensions to allow. I initially specified to allow zip / rar files to be attached but am now questioning that as someone could include some executable in one that may have a negative impact. I've sent the list I came up with out to the various organizations in the company as they use applications I don't have access to and should be able to provide input as to what else may be needed. I really appreciate the responses though. I think I'm going to like communities as we get rolling.
