Shadow Task cannot be updated error

We have a story that cannot be closed out - it throws a weird error that mentions a shadow task when attempting to update.

STRY0020942 shows as active in our agile group backlog despite having a state of 'complete' and percent complete of '100'. The issue is seen when we attempt to update the required field 'acceptance criteria' and click 'save'.

It doesn't appear to be related to an external dependencies:

While I can't provide the definitive cause of the error, if you disable business rule 'Abort Update of Shadow Task', you'll be able to close the sprint.  Just make sure to revert the change to the business rule once you're done.
