VTB Cards currently do not allow you to sort the cards within a vertical lane by any of the variables. Shows the ability to filter but not to sort. I would like to sort by a variable such as planned end date or planned start date.
Also if you were to take time to manually sort cards; you can go back to the VTB and the cards are not in the order that you put them in at times. So it is out of the question to set out some time to arrange these.

Hi Renaldo,
There is no straight way of sorting VTB cards but a good workaround has been given by michael_lynch at below community thread. It works for me see if it helps you. You will find workaround later in the thread.
Use List view to Sort and create VTB Cards
Please mark this accepted and helpful if your question has been answered. Thanks!

Thanks Muhammad. This is very helpful knowledge. However when I attempt the method presented in the thread "Use List view to Sort and create VTB Cards" it creates a Flexible board and not a Guided board. I am attempting to stay with the guided board to allow users to be able to move their cards between lanes (states).

That's strange. I always use list view to create my VTB and it creates guided board with with the flexibility to move cards between lanes (states).

I wonder if this is something that can be configured so that they default to a guided board. Or I could simply be utilizing the method improperly. My steps below:
I go to the list view by bringing up project tasks.
I sort by the planned start date column. Once sorted I right click and select Show Visual Task Board so that it creates the VTB.
