SPM - Resource Report - Capacity Trend line with FTE

Hello All,

Question : 1

Actually, i have one group with 2 members, person A has 5 working days and person B has 4 working days per week.

in resource report, the capacity trend line for FTE is showing a straight line with round value always based on group members.
For example: Group has 2 members, and the value is showing 2.00 FTE.

But the capacity trend for Hours and Person days is showing ups and downs based on the user schedule.
We can see the difference in value between person A and B.
For example: person A has more hours and person days than person B.

Why are the changes(difference) not showing for capacity for FTE in resource report like hours and person days?

Question : 2

Can anyone explain the below information(blue) with example (if possible) which I found in product documentation?

Capacity
: Total capacity trend for the resources, which is derived from the user or group schedule. The group capacity is rolled up from the schedules of all the members.

Note: Capacity is not derived from FTE, but from schedules. Both FTE and schedules must be in synchronization with each other.

Hi @Yuvaraj T ,

Hope you are doing well.

Suppose resource A's working schedule is 4 days a week & resource B is working 5 days a week. in this case resource A is 1 FTE and resource B is another FTE. This means each one of them is considered as  1 FTE.

This is the reason if you check in FTE then for a week you have 2 FTEs.

Now let's discuss about their schedule. Suppose both the resources have same OOTB resource management schedule, in this case the capacity of each resource is 8 hours per day.

Now for one week res A capacity in hours = 32 hours and that of resource B = 40 hours

that is why you see different capacity when considered in hours.

Hope above explains the second point as well.

But always remember that user's capacity is calculated based on the resource's schedule. The group's capacity = sum of every person's capacity present in that group. Same you will get in the capacity planning.
