Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a project using SPM, and I’ve noticed that the effort logged through Time Cards on Stories is not rolling up to the corresponding Epics. In our setup, Epics are the primary level used for reporting and analytics, so this gap in effort aggregation is causing some inconsistencies in our metrics.
I’ve reviewed configurations and documentation, but I haven’t found anything that clearly states whether this is expected behavior or if there’s a specific setting, roll-up mechanism, or additional feature that needs to be enabled for effort to flow from Stories up to Epics.
Has anyone else run into this? How did you address or work around it? Any insight or experience would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Timecards are registered on tasks. Depending on the task, there may be some that role up to parents (like project tasks to the project, project to portfolio). For story and epics this is not the case, because an Epic is usually not something that time is registered to.
If you need this, you'll have to create it yourself. But that shouldn't be too hard, because I think you can easily report on it from the time card. Dotwalk to the epic from the task the time was registered to.
