I was assuming that users with timecard approver role would be able to approve time card / time sheet of any user but I don't see that happening. So how exactly this will work?
Do they need timecard admin role as I see if I give them timecard admin then they can approve. So what they can do when they have only timecard approver role?
please share any article which has some use cases.
Thank you and Happy Learning !
EDIT 1: So after some more checking I realized that timecard approver role can only approve a time card if it gets the approval as per the time sheet policy. Is this correct understanding?
But what if I want to trigger this approval on my own condition?
For eg: I want my time cards to be auto approved so I kept the policy as auto approval. But for recalled timecard which gets resubmitted, I want to send this approval to project manager or I want that any user with the timecard approval users can approve.

Hi,
Just to throw this out there, it would only make sense to do some sort of "edit note" in the bottom of your post if you've had activity already in this thread. Since no one has jumped in yet, you're better off updating not only your question topic, but the content within as your question is different now than just:
"Time Cards Approve option not available for users with Timecard approver role."
So now you're causing the reader to have to filter through all this to understand what you're asking/needing help with.
Please mark reply as Helpful, if applicable. Thanks!

Hi Aditya,
- Firstly approval need to have timecard_approver role.
- Secondly Timecard user must have timecard_user role
- Then, based on timesheet policy
- if policy says timesheets must be approved by project manager then Project manager name must be updated on project form and he must have timecard_approver role.
- if policy says Non project task must be approved by user manager then user manager details must be updated in users profile (sys_profile) and he must have timecard_approver role.
- If above conditions are true and you still see issue persisting, then can you please check if any custom changes/ACL done for timecard_approver role
- If answer for point 4 is No changes done, then it must surely work.
Just one more clarification - is your approver unable to see timecards or they can see timecards, but don't see approve button, please help to confirm?
Thank you!
Rajesh Singh

Hi Rajesh,
Thanks for the detailed answer. Point 1 and 2 are correct. Point 3 is not correct as I wanted some customization. I have both project and non project time set as auto approval but what I wanted is if a project work time card is being resubmitted after it was recalled then it should not get auto approved. In that case I wanted the project manager to approve the time card.
So I updated the business rule "Set approvers List" and stopped the auto approval if the previous state was recalled for a project time card.
So it stops the auto approval but it doesn't allow the project manager to approve the time card. They can only see the time card. I did this thinking that project manager has timecard approver role so they would be able to approve anyway.
Suggestion on how to get this customization working?
