We use Enterprise SAFe and Strategic Planning broadly and have configured the "Alignment Integration" for Strategic planning so that Projects/SAFe Epics/SAFe Features created in Strategic Planning are also created in relevant SAFe and project tables, and certain fields are synchronised between the Planning Items and their underlying records.
We have installed Enterprise Agile Planning in our lower environments and have specified our "Enterprise Agile configurations" as using the SAFe 'Epic Methodology".
However, when we create an Epic or a Feature from the relevant level in EAP, a corresponding record is not being created in the underlying SAFe tables nor are they being created in the rm_feature table. When we create a story though, from the team level in EAP, it creates a story in the rm_story table.
This then raises the question of what does migrating to EAP mean for SAFe users? I understand that SAFe is being deprecated but does this mean that when migrating to EAP one is also migrating to Agile Dev 2.0 (understanding that the SAFe tables are predominately extended off the same). Do we need to reconfigure/setup the alignment integration so that the underlying records are created when the planning item is? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Nat,
EAP is intended to replace the SAFe functionality, rather than have a bi-directional integration. If you're using SAFe for to execute the Agile work, there is an integration at the Epic level, so you can pull in those epics into Portfolio Plans to prioritize at a high-level. We also have a Guided Migration Tool to migrate data from SAFe to EAP - when ready to move to EAP.
I'm happy to get together to discuss your use-case in detail if you'd like.
Thanks!
