Hi,
Key Milestones are visible on portfolio and/or program level (eg. via Investment portal, Portfolio or Program workbench) whereus "normal" milestones are visible only on a project level (eg. via Planning Console).
Kind regards,
Petr

Hi Mary,
Frankly speaking even for me this was something new I learned. I always heard about Milestones only having zero duration. In ServiceNow, they have one more additional fields to identify if a milestone is a key milestone.
In the planning console, once you set your task to zero duration it becomes a milestone.
One thing I have noticed is that your milestone won't be shown in the status reports. Only Key milestones will be shown. So in order to present the status report along with upcoming milestones you need to set them as Key milestones.
What we have done in our organisation is we have set a BR to make all milestones defaulted to key milestones. This way we don't miss them from our status reports.
Hope this helps.
