What is the best way to keep a Demand record in Approved state after selecting the 'Create Project' related link? Client wants to keep the Demand from completing after the link is selected.
Not sure if a business rule is needed, or a change to the scripting of the 'Create project' UI action, or a client script is needed.
What are your thoughts on a solution?

Hi @Hassenpfeffer ,
Thanks for contacting the community.
You do not need to change any of the BRs.
I have created a recording for better understanding of the solution and also provided the background of this behaviour.
Demand will be closed or not on creation of project (from the demand), depends on the option selected in the 'Close Demand' field present in the Preferences tab of the Demand. I think this change was introduced in the New York release.
Below is the explanation:
Value | Impact |
None |
Keeps the demand in the Open state. Manual intervention is required to complete the demand. |
On creation of project | Closes the demand on creating the project from the demand. |
On closure of project |
Closes the demand when the project created from the demand is closed. |
If this answers the question, please mark this response as correct answer.
Happy SPM Journey !!
Thanks,
Namita Mishra
