Why do project planned start and planned end date fields get locked upon creation of a Decision record?

Is it expected behavior that a Decision record (related list) on a Project will lock the Project planned start and planned end date fields? I understand this behavior is expected (planned dates locked) once a project task is created, but I am seeing the same thing happen with no project tasks and only a decision record created. Planned start and end are editable prior to the creation of the decision.

This is the behavior I see in our instance and in my PDI. Does that mean this is a bug? Anyone else seeing this?

I have seen similar posts before, I think this is happening but not sure if it is an issue or expected behavior.
If you are planning to implement this, go ahead with HI support ticket to gain better understanding

I have the same issue. When adding a Decision record, the Project planned start and planned end date will become read only. Did you find any workaround for this?
Same thing happen if you add a Requirement record
