What are the possibilities of a CSA associate certification landing me a sys admin position at ServiceNow? I have quite a bit of experience as a system engineer and 6 years experience as a ServiceNow end user

This is just personal feedback, but nowadays CSA is just a default requirement for almost any ServiceNow position, so I would say having it is pretty standard. Now for you question, if it will get you a position, I would say not directly.
I think more and more companies are looking for experience on top of certifications. I think it is easier for someone to get a position by having experience and not the CSA than the reverse. But either way, if you want to possibly go for the SN path, I would say for sure to go for it. Having the certification won't hurt and it will for sure increase your possibility of landing an admin position.
Cheers

Hi @cundiff1030
As a ServiceNow Developer, I can say that obtaining a CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification significantly enhances your chances of landing a sys admin position at ServiceNow. Here’s why:
1. Certification Credibility
- The CSA certification validates your understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its core functionalities. It’s often a prerequisite for sys admin roles, demonstrating your ability to manage and configure the system effectively.
2. Relevant Skill Set
- A sys admin role requires knowledge of ServiceNow administration, scripting, and ITSM processes. The CSA certification covers these areas, aligning well with the skills needed for the job.
3. Experience Advantage
- Your experience as a system engineer and ServiceNow end user gives you practical insights into system operations and user needs, which is invaluable in a sys admin role. This combination of certification and hands-on experience is highly attractive to employers.
4. Growing Demand
- The demand for ServiceNow professionals continues to grow, and many organizations seek certified candidates for sys admin positions. With your background and certification, you will be well-positioned in the job market.
5. Networking Opportunities
- Engaging with the ServiceNow community can provide job leads and insights. Participate in forums, user groups, and webinars to connect with industry professionals.
Additional Resources
By leveraging your CSA certification along with your relevant experience, you have a solid chance of securing a sys admin position at ServiceNow. Good luck!

Hi @M Talha - all good, but next time, how about telling us what YOU think, not what ChatGPT thinks? 🙂
