Does the owning group not need the "knowledge_group_member" role?

I am using a customized knowledge management system.

I have used the "ownership_group" field to ensure that records in draft status are only visible to users in the owning group.

- The workflow is still OOTB and has not been modified.

- Notifications are not OOTB, they are all created from scratch.

- Article templates are used.

A normal group record is set for the owning group.

It works without the "knowledge_group_member" role, is this OK?

I would like to know the appropriateness of granting the role.

The documentation states that "knowledge_group_member" is required for the owning group, but I am wondering if it is unnecessary if it is working.

Hi @bonsai ,

i understand ,It works without the "knowledge_group_member" role but List of groups this role is assigned to by default.

Knowledge group members are part of an ownership group that can be associated to knowledge articles. They can approve knowledge articles, assign feedback tasks to themselves and work on them as well as edit any knowledge articles that their ownership group is assigned to. Knowledge role comes as a subordinate role.
