Hello, I am in the process of changing career paths after a decade in the medical field. to be specific I have been in emergency medicine my entire adult working life (a decade now) and have recently gotten into school and am going to obtain some COMPTIA certs. I was directed to this community by my professor for certifications and learning opportunities due to the wealth of knowledge that is offered by the community. Class doesn't officially start until September but I am doing some of the certification / career path options provided by service now currently, specifically they system admin stuff. I feel mildly overwhelmed due to my lack of knowledge but I understand that knowledge grows with time, my question to you as a community is can you perhaps point me in a direction and offer advice that may make my work experience and medical knowledge feel like its of some value? It is a tough pill to swallow feeling like I am just letting go of all of that with little to no future use for any of it.
