Hello Community!

I'm new in this forum. I just completed my ServiceNow System Administrator certification. I need tips on how to get to an intermediate level and how to land a position as a junior System Administrator.

Thanks!

  • Implementer
  • Technical Project Manager
  • Business Process Analyst
  • Support Specialist

2. Developer Portal

  • Request your Personal Developer Instance (PDI) — your own ServiceNow sandbox to practice safely.
  • You can try almost everything for free (except a few advanced features like AI).
  • Explore guides, tutorials, blogs, and documentation to learn more.

Learning Plan ServiceNow Administrator:

  • Learn admin skills to move into app development.
  • Includes 13 short, self-paced modules.

TL;DR

ServiceNow University = Learn and earn badges or certifications.

Developer Portal = Practice and explore the platform hands-on.

Connect with others on LinkedIn — follow creators and join groups to learn even more!

Good luck! 🤞💪

Hi @NassirouA

  • 👋 I’m a ServiceNow trainer, happy to share my thoughts with anyone starting their ServiceNow journey.

  • 🌐 ServiceNow is expanding rapidly, both in breadth and depth — the best way to begin is by earning the CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification.

  • 🧩 The CSA builds a strong foundation in platform fundamentals, terminology, and core modules — once you gain hands-on experience, you can decide your next learning path.

  • 💼 Employers value multi-module expertise, so after CSA, explore products like ITSM, GRC, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps to broaden your portfolio.

  • 🎓 Training is currently free, which is a great opportunity — but the key challenge is hands-on experience.

  • 🤝 Engage with the ServiceNow Community for at least 1–2 hours a day — read discussions, answer questions, and share insights to strengthen your understanding and confidence.

  • 💻 If your goal is development, focus on scripting skills using resources on developer.servicenow.com. Practice consistently to boost your technical expertise.

  • 🎯 Start with the CSA, then progress based on your interests — Admin, Developer, Business Analyst, Change Manager, or Project Manager — a strong foundation opens all paths.

  • 🌱 Welcome to this dedicated community space! Connect, collaborate, and grow with peers. Share ideas, seek guidance, and help others in their learning journey.
