Lab 3.4.1 Clone an existing widget

Hi team,

I'm working on Lab 3.4.1 and have run into an issue. Here's a summary:

  • Goal: Clone the "Approvals" widget to a new widget called "Approval CD".

  • Action: I successfully cloned the widget and commented out the required code as per the lab instructions.

  • Problem: When I try to drag the new "Approval CD" widget onto the page container in the designer, it doesn't appear. The original "Approvals" widget is still visible and works fine.

  • Troubleshooting: I've checked for any error indicators (like a red exclamation mark) but haven't found any.

What are the next steps I should take to figure out why the widget isn't showing up?

Hi @ArjayC,

have you tried to

  • refresh the page and retry
  • ensure it is in proper scope
  • add new section and move it there

Please share what happens when you move it and indicate where are you placing it to

Hi @ArjayC ,

I tested the same in my PDI by cloning the out-of-box (OOB) widget 'Approvals,' renaming it with the ID 'approvals_nksm,' and then adding it to the pages. It's working fine

and added into the page (output) screenshot

 please check below points-

1.  I have not changed anything just using OOB features

2. Provides proper widget ID

3. open page in new tab (refresh) and try to add the widget

4. verify the widget scope (Global)

5. Once it visible in page then modify as per your requirements

If you found my response helpful, please mark it as helpful and accept it as the solution.

Thank you
