Hi Everyone

I am Ashley and have just started off on my ServiceNow journey.

My background is in EFT Payments where I have 10+ years experience with the Postilion payment application suite. I am looking to transition my career into ServiceNow because it is another great enterprise application suite with a world-wide presence.

Looking forward to connecting with you all, learning new things, and contributing to the community.

Hi @AshleyKerchhoff

Greetings!!

Welcome to the ServiceNow world! 🎉

As a ServiceNow trainer, I’m happy to share a few thoughts with you. Just to give you an idea, ServiceNow is getting deeper and wider every day, which means there are lots of areas you can explore based on your previous experience.

To get started with ServiceNow, everyone should begin with the basics, especially Administration. I would recommend starting with the CSA (Certified System Administrator) journey, as it will give you a strong foundation and help you understand the core concepts of ServiceNow.

You’ll get familiar with areas such as the platform architecture, core components, terminology, and the overall ServiceNow ecosystem. Once you have this foundation, you can decide which direction you want to move in.

Depending on your interests and previous experience, you could explore areas such as:

  • Development
  • Consulting
  • Multiple ServiceNow modules
  • Implementation / project-based roles

For example, if you come from an Operations background, areas such as FSO or S2P could potentially be a good fit for you.

But before deciding on a specific path, I strongly recommend starting with CSA. Build a solid foundation first, and then explore the different ServiceNow career paths based on your interests and experience.
