Hi @davidogwo13
No worries, mate. Let me try to share my thoughts. I'm a ServiceNow trainer and always happy to share insights.
CSA (Certified System Administrator) is a foundational course. By taking this course, you'll gain a clear understanding of the platform, its terminology, key concepts, and the overall impact of ServiceNow. These fundamentals are essential for anyone working with the platform—whether as a developer, support specialist, or in OCM roles. So without a doubt, CSA is a must-have certification to begin your journey.
Now, the Support Specialist role is more about how you can use the ServiceNow platform to serve your customers effectively. Taking the CSA doesn’t automatically make you a Support Specialist—but it puts you on the right path toward becoming one.
Think of it like this: taking a baking class doesn’t instantly make you a master baker—it means you’ve started your journey and are building the skills. Similarly, certifications and training sessions help you become the best in your chosen role.
Carrer Journey:
This career journey is a collection of free and paid courses, credentials, and activities organized by job level that will help you prepare for a role as a ServiceNow Support Specialist.
Hope that helps clear up any confusion!
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Yes, @davidogwo13, the CSA is an absolute must, it is practically a key to open the very first gate to the ServiceNow world, because it is a prerequisite for any other module or further role.
The exam is a challenge but anyone can pass it after some time invested in learning.
