I am trying to delete old tasks in ServiceNow, but the records are not getting deleted even after following the usual steps. I checked the list view, filters, and related options, but the delete action is either not available or not working.
I also tried saving changes, but it still fails.
Could anyone please help me understand:
1. Why the task is not deleting?
2. Is there any specific role or permission required?
3. Is there any additional setting or option that needs to be enabled?
Any guidance would be helpful.

What kind of tasks? Do you have the permission to delete? Did you check the ACLs? Did you check the condition on the delete button? What roles do you have yourself?
Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

ahoy @kalpanamc,
how do you define "old tasks"? What table and what details (e.g. created or closed 2 years ago)?
What is "usual steps" - button on a form, button in a list, some scheduled delete job or script?
could you possibly share some context?
Unsolicited advice - it is not recommended to delete tasks/records (unless they are created after an outage etc) as there might be dependencies, maybe you can just close or archive them.
